One of the first Chicago transplant steppers to grace the Detroit dance floors with his Westside style has passed.

Lord Henry Loyd Thomas, brother of retired Detroit Pistons guard, Isaiah Thomas, succumbed to a long term illness this weekend in Chicago. Additionally, Larry Thomas, their older brother, was the first Chicagoan to introduce steppin to Detroiters back in 1995 at Reggie’s Moulin Rouge and the Detroit West Club with Genise Westley.

Lord Thomas will be remembered for his unique style of Westside steppin in the early 2000s at Club Yesterdays and Paradise and his colorful tailor made suits which he wore with pride along with his ever present smile.

Thomas was surrounded by his family at the time of his transition and leaves a host of family and friends to remember his contributions to the development of steppin in Detroit.
